Chosen Tour: Fair Wind Snorkel Cruise
Took the launch to Kona where we went by van to Keauhou Bay and boarded the Fair Wind II, a 60-ft state-of-the-art catamaran complete
with 15-ft water slide. Snorkeling gear and instruction were provided along with view boxes, prescription masks, inner tubes and other
flotation devices. We cruised to Kealakekua Bay, a natural marine reserve which is considered one of Hawaii's best snorkeling spots where
we saw various tropical fish, coral reefs, etc.
Most of today was spent on Kona, as we took the launch in early to do some quick shopping, then after lunch took the launch back in to Kona to go to the beach before boarding the van to go snorkling.
We did manage to see a special Aloha performance show that night, hula rehearsal, Ed & I performed our Little Grass Shack hula in front of the audience, and went to the passenger talent show.
Missed the exercise classes, Hawaiiana Talk Story, games, paper flower and shell jewelry class, putt-putt golf, bridge tour, bing, tea time, Aloha Lei tossing ceremony, Broadway on the Pacific show featuring a salute to Irving Berlin and Cole Porter, late night dancing.
Packing our bags that night was depressing as we knew this wonderful holiday was coming to a close.
Sailed for Honolulu about 8 p.m.
